Cole is Six Months Old!

Cole is now six months old and he is a joy to have around. He is a happy baby, sleeps great and eats great. He laughs and can make your heart melt when he smiles at you. I know he loves me, but he loves his daddy to no end. I amazed at the bond that they have.

Six month doctor visit:
Height-25 1/2 inches
Weight-16 pounds 15 ounces
Head - don't remember, but it was good.
Overall, Cole got an A+ for good health, he's attentive and interactive, growing, happy and well contented.

Things we love about him and his latest accomplishments:

1. So cute - how could anyone not love him!
2. He talks a lot - babbling. If you listen close, you can hear the words "da-da" in a string of babble. Mark tells me that Cole loves me too, even though he doesn't say "ma-ma."
3. Cole eats four times a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and nurses before bed. He loves applesause, potato soup (just the broth part of it), mango, toy cell phones and just about anything besides green beans.

4. He is interested in so many things. He loves babies, shopping (especially Target), the jumperoo, playing with mommy and daddy, hanging upside down, all the fun things dad does with him, and being read to.

5. Cole is in the beginning stages of starting to crawl, he can get up on all four (either knees or toes) but most often he ends up doing the "downward facing dog" position. He can roll over both ways, and uses that sometimes to get places. Today, in worm-like style, he was able to move about 3 feet forward in about 10 seconds. So he has figured out one way to get that toy that is just out of his reach.
6. Cole has learned to sit up on his own from laying down. This is how I find him after naptime now.
7. Cole loves bathtime. This photo below captures his personality about 90% of the time. He is such a happy, good natured baby. Oh...and he loves attention!
8. Since he was young, he was able to pick things up and put them in his mouth. He mastered that months ago, however he is now working on getting small little "puffs" or cheerios into his mouth. Only a few times has he been successful.
9. We love him a lot and he brings joy to our lives each and every day.
10. Did we mention that he is so very cute! We just love him!
Happy Belated Birthday Cole!

Cubs game

Mark and I talked about going to a Cubs game all summer long. So...with only four games left in the season, we decided it was about time. Cole did great for the early part of the game, but once we hit bedtime, he got fussy and we left early. It was a great night and we enjoyed the nice night out.
Go team go!
Cole is excited for the big game (we got there a little early, so the place was empty!)
Family fun night
The sunset was gorgeous.
A view of the city

Fun with Jack

Cole and I always enjoy getting together with Jack, Ella and Melissa for our usual chaotic lunches. Here are some cute photos of Jack and Cole.
Friends sitting by each other.
Hopefully they will have a lifelong friendship like Melissa and I do.
Thinking about it....
Yup. Not just thinking anymore. Cole is either giving Jack some love or getting hungry for lunch.

Fun with Grandma P

Thanks Grandma P for all the fun times at the lake!

Sam I Am

That's right -

I will not eat them with a spoon, I will not eat them with a fork.
I will not eat them in a house, I will not eat them with a mouse.
I do not like Green Beans!

Update: Cole has since learned to like or atleast eat every food we have given him. He has had carrots, sweet potato, squash, green beans, peas, applesauce, pears and prunes. I have been making most of them at home, which has been pretty easy.
Today, however, he boycotted his green beans (which he tolerates), squash (which he likes) and applesause (which he loves). He wanted some of the potato soup that I made. I gave him some of the soup without the chunks and he devoured it. I think he is getting more and more ready for table food.

Laughing and Tickling at the Fair

Cole loves to be tickled by his daddy and Mark always knows just how to do it to make him laugh.

Another Day at the Fair

Funny story - Mark and I decided we should go to the fair this year, so we planned what day we were going to go and bought tickets ahead of time. Well, our first journey to the fair we took the bus from the capital, and during the ride there, we realized that we forgot the tickets in Mark's car. So we bought tickets at the gate and figured we would go again another day.

Well....on the way to the fair the second time, we parked at the capital, got on the bus and just when we were taking off, we realized that we forgot the tickets again! I asked the bus driver if he could let Mark off the bus to grab our tickets and he would catch the next one. Well, a couple across the aisle from us said they had extra tickets which we could have. It was really nice of them. So...these are photos of the fair courtesy of the nice couple on the bus.

Which tastes better - dads hair or the cookies dad wants.
You talkin to me!?
This photo seemed to capture some of the fair.
And another one.

More Iowa State Photos

Dad, we didn't get very good seats for this concert. Looking at mom is much more fun!
Can I have some!? That big thing is funny looking!
Hmmm...not sure about this.
Where did you take me to dad?

Iowa State Fair 2009

Mark, Cole and I went to the Iowa State Fair. We obviously went awhile ago, but there were too many photos to choose from, so I just never chose which ones to post. Until now. Sorry for the delay in posting on our blog for awhile.

Who's more interested - Cole or Daddy?
Wow Dad! He is almost as tall as you!
Hey - who opened the gate!?
I don't know...but that's funny!
