Happy 40th Anniversary Dale and Kris!

Congrats to Dale and Kris who celebrated 40 years of marriage!

It was great to see Krista, Kim and Sydney and all the Larsons! Krista got the award for traveling the farthest from South Africa!

Unfortunatley, Mark had to work and wasn't able to come with, that is why this is a mother and son photo only. We missed him.

Visiting New Hampton

Cole met his Great Grandpa Paul for the first time on Saturday. Cole's middle name is Paul in honor of his Great Grandpa and also Mark's Dad. Great Grandpa is 95 years old and has 30 other great grand kids. Family get togethers are rather large and lots of fun!
Cole has always loved mirrors, but he was especially entertained by this one. Too bad we don't have a video of this. Cole was talking and talking to the other baby! It was really cute!

I don't know why...

For some reason, when buying baby boy clothes, my eye tends to wander to the pretty girl dresses. It seems there are so many cute girl clothes (and yes, there are lots of cute boy clothes too). I just had to buy this one. It was really cute and not too expensive. Who knows... the next time around there is a 50% chance we would have a girl!

Our First Piece of Fresh produce!

Back in May, Mark and I planted a garden. We thought it was a great idea at the time. We planted two kinds of beans, broccoli, spinach, bibb lettuce, cucumbers, radishes and two kinds of tomatoes. Well, after lots of tilling, preparing, fertilizing, "rabbit no more" prevention, watering and weed pulling. We finally have our first bit of fresh produce! Hmmm...was it worth it!?

Of all the things we planted, only the beans, lettuce and tomatoes are doing well. The radishes grew well, but were really hot. The rest grew but were either eatten by rabbits or bugs or just didn't grow well. We replanted some, but still didn't have much luck. So, I am thankful for the beans and tomatoes.

Grandparents visiting at the lake

Cole always has fun with Grandpa Gene. I think they enjoy one another company a lot. My parents came to visit the other weekend and all of us were able to spend some relaxing time at the lake.

Kissing Cole

Oh what fun! We love him so much! Too bad he tries to eat us!

Toe grabber

Its been awhile since we last posted, but Cole has been doing all sorts of new things. One of which is having his diaper off and grab his toes. Diaper changing time can last quite some time! There is just something about it which he loves, so we all get to enjoy this fun time for him!

Happy Birthday Alex!

Our friend, Alex turned one year old on Saturday! Happy 1st Birthday Alex! He is about to dig into his very own yummy cake! Mary and Cole decked out in thier party hats
Congratulations Alex - you are going to be a big brother! Congrats Jason and Nicole - we are so excited for you!

Creeping

Not quite crawling, but during tummy time he has been "creeping".

Yum

Cole tried rice cereal for the first time! Somehow, we think this is a big adventure, however we have been letting him suck on other big kid food for some time, like watermelon. So far I think Mikey likes it!

Making dinner

Cole is enjoying his new (borrowed - thanks Amanda!) Bumbo and watching me make dinner.

What an interesting new viewpoint!

More photos in the crib

Quite the journey

The last few days Cole has been transitioning to sleeping in his crib.

In the beginning, Cole slept next to our bed in bassinet. However when he was one month old, our doctor advised us that we should move him to his crib (or atleast out of our room). Well, his room and our room are on different levels and considerably far apart. He was sleeping well during the night but still waking once and so for selfish reasons, I didn't want to have to go upstairs and feed him in the middle of the night. So we moved him to the hall bathroom, just outside our room.
The hall bathroom. People thought we were kidding when we said he slept in the bathroom.
Well, the hall bathroom is too close to the rest of the house/kitchen. I didn't feel like I could make any noise when he was taking naps. So we moved him to our closet, on the other side of the master bathroom. This has been a nice place for him for the last month, but we feel it is past time for him to sleep in his crib. So....
Finally! He is sleeping in his crib, just like he should be. (Don't worry the bears are gone, they were just for decoration.)
Oh he looks so happy!

Four Month Stats

Today, Cole had his 4 month doctor visit. He did very well, even when getting his terrible vaccination shots. The Doctor had nothing but good things to say about him.

Stats:
Weight: 14 lbs 8 ounces (50%)
Length: 25 inches (50%)
Head Circumference: 16 1/2 inches (25-50%)

Right about average or so they say. Of course we think he is better than average! As do most every parent!

Cole is growing and doing well. He is a joy to have and we are enjoying the four month stage. We are thinking about trying rice cereal soon!

The Fourth

My parents, Gene and Linnea, visited us for the weekend of the fourth. It is always great to get together with them. They are such wonderful grandparents to Cole.

The 3rd and 4th of July

We all enjoyed a nice day at the lake for the 3rd of July. Almost the entire Prendergast family was there to celebrate.

For the 4th of July, Mark had to work, but Cole still celebrated the freedom that we have. Thanks to all those who serve in this country. Cole didn't sleep for naps on the 4th, so we stayed in and watched the fireworks that our neighbors put on.

At the lake with friends

Nicole, Jason and Alex joined us at the lake last week for a day in the sun. Its nice to have good friends.
